24% more Chartered Financial Planners

When you are seeking independent financial advice, there really is no substitute for working with a Chartered Financial Planner.

This is the gold standard of independent financial advice; a demanding technical qualification combined with experience and ethical behaviour requirements.

In this increasingly complex world of retail financial services, advisers really should be qualified to this highest standard to demonstrate their competence.

Since the benchmark qualification standard was raised to QCF Level 4 (Diploma) level by the Financial Services Authority at the end of last year, those who worked harder to achieve Chartered Financial Planner status continue to set themselves apart from the crowd.

New figures from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), which is responsible for the Chartered Financial Planner status, report that there has been a 24% rise in those holding this gold standard qualification over the past year.

The number of Chartered Financial Planners has doubled in the last three years.

As at March, there are 3,513 individual Chartered Financial Planners, compared to 2,839 at the same time last year.
