We have published a new briefing note today, looking at the Public Sector Pension Reform proposals made by Lord Hutton.

The 11-page briefing note is available to download for free here.

Within this briefing note we describe the background to the proposals and a summary of the three main recommendations being made before looking at which schemes are covered, the move to career average earnings, later retirement ages and changing the inflation basis of benefits.

We also provide a summary of the other proposals made by the Independent Public Service Pension Commission.

We believe that this briefing note provides a much needed plain English explanation of the main proposals and is essential reading for any public service member who is thinking about their retirement planning in light of the news today.

You are welcome to email this PDF briefing note to any friends, family or colleagues in the public sector and we are happy to answer any questions they might have about the proposals.
