The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 6,674.30, closing down 7,03 (-0.11%) on the day and down 19.14 points (-0.29%) over the week.

Equities in London fell in value for a third successive week, led lower by earnings concerns from mining stocks.

The UK mining sector was the biggest faller on Friday, down by 1.3%. With static costs and a view that commodity prices will gradually weaken, there is concern that earnings in this sector will come under pressure.

Over a year the FTSE 100 has risen from 5,791.00, a rise of 883.3 points or +15.25%.

£1 is worth $1.62140 US or €1.19660 Euros.

Brent Crude Oil Futures is currently priced at $111.06/barrel. Gold is $1,246.25/ounce and Silver is $19.93/ounce.

The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 2.5% for the year to October 2013.
