The FTSE 100 index of leading UK company shares finished the week at 5,527.16, down 18.48 points or -0.33% on the day and down 175.08 points (-3.07%) over the week.

The index performed strongly in morning trading before turning negative in the afternoon session following mixed October jobs data in the US.

Over a year the FTSE 100 has fallen from 5,862.80, a fall of 335.64 points or -5.72%.

£1 is currently worth $1.60250 US or €1.16350 Euros.

Brent Crude Oil Futures is currently priced at $112.23/barrel. Gold is $1,749.00/ounce and Silver is $33.95/ounce.

The UK Bank Rate is 0.5% and CPI inflation was 5.2% for the year to September 2011.
