Martin becomes Accredited Later Life Adviser

Informed Choice managing director Martin Bamford has become an Accredited Later Life Adviser.

The Later Life Adviser Accreditation is the recognised benchmark for advice skills of those advisers who specialise in the older client market.

It consists of a stringent assessment process involving a Self Audit Form submission and a face to face assessment interview, which Martin completed in London last month.

Martin joins the ranks of only 400 UK advisers to hold the Later Life Adviser Accreditation and now becomes a full member of the Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA).

Becoming a member of SOLLA is a real endorsement of Martin’s skills and experience in working with, and understanding the needs of, older people and their families and carers.

With more than 10 million people in the UK over 65 years old, and 1.25 million people aged 85 or over in England and Wales, we are experiencing a growing demand for specialist advice on residential care fees planning.

Becoming an Accredited Later Life Adviser will enable Martin to focus on the delivery of independent financial advice to the families of people entering residential care homes in Surrey.

Martin has a particular interest in dementia and the specific challenges this raises for care fees planning.

Earlier this year, Martin was also granted the Chartered Wealth Manager title, which he holds in addition to being a Chartered Financial Planner, Certified Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.
