How much ‘fun’ do you have?

It’s easy to conclude that modern life is fairly rubbish or at least dull, based on a new calculation of the ‘fun’ to ‘mundane’ ratio.

Researchers calculated the ‘fun’ to ‘non-fun’ life ratio at 17 to 83 – with having fun emerging as by far the smaller part of life.

The study revealed the large amount of time we now devote to work, commuting, household chores and family responsibilities means very little time is left for fun.

Almost half of Brits (45%) claimed they don’t have enough money to have as much fun as they would like to.

The research found we get an average 29 hours and 57 minutes ‘fun’ each week, including nine and three quarters on a weekend.

That figure also talks into account seven hours and 12 minutes fun at work each week, and another 12 hours and 55 minutes during weekday evenings.

Furthermore it emerged the average Brits spend only £1,545.44 a year on ‘fun’ activities.
