Paraplanner jobs in Surrey

Due to the continued growth of our business, we have a vacancy for a Paraplanner or Trainee Paraplanner to join us on a full time basis working from our High Street office in Cranleigh, Surrey.

Our ideal candidate has been working in a Paraplanner role for at least three years and holds the Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent, ideally with progress towards Chartered Financial Planner or CFP status.

You will already be carrying out independent product and fund research, analysing information from clients, writing comprehensive client reports and letters, and attending client meetings.

Experience with and deep understanding of Truth from Prestwood, the software we use for cashflow forecasting and Financial Planning, is important.

Alternatively, we would consider hiring a trainee Paraplanner who has financial services administration experience and has made some progress towards the Diploma qualifications.

Working with the directors, you will gain valuable experience and the technical skills required to carry out research, analyse files and write comprehensive advice and planning reports.

We’ll train you to get the best out of the software we use, identify the right solutions for clients and become technically competent across a range of Financial Planning areas.

We’ll also give you the time and support you need to complete your professional qualifications, placing you on a track to become a Chartered Financial Planner or CFP professional.

For both roles, an excellent command of written and spoken English is essential, along with an exceptional attention to detail and high standards in everything you do. We like interesting people – please, go ahead and impress us.

Experience of working in a small business is also important, as those only used to working in large companies might not represent the best cultural fit for us.

What is a Paraplanner?

A Paraplanner is an important role within a firm of Financial Planners, completing many of the non-client facing tasks.

The role varies at different firms; here at Informed Choice our Paraplanning role involves carrying out product, fund and platform research, analysing client information, constructing comprehensive reports, and completing follow-up activity after client meetings, including calculating the fund switches required to rebalance portfolios.

For us, Paraplanning is a role distinct from Administration, as a productive Paraplanner should be able to focus on their role rather than spending hours chasing product providers for outstanding information or completing other basic administration tasks.
