We need to talk about death

Death and dying remains a taboo subject.

As Financial Planners, we often have to discuss this morbid topic with our clients; making an assumption about when you are likely to die is an important part of the Financial Planning process.

On Saturday 8th March 2014, we will be hosting a Death Cafe at the Cranleigh Arts Centre.

At Death Cafes, people drink tea, eat cake and discuss death.

The aim is to increase awareness of death to help people make the most of their (finite) lives.

This particular Death Cafe has been created as part of our project in 2014 to produce a feature-length documentary about Financial Planning and the Baby Boomer generation.

Guests at the Cranleigh Death Cafe will be invited to appear on camera, with some of the footage from the morning used in the movie.

Tickets are free of charge, and there will be free cake, tea and coffee.

The Cranleigh Death Cafe runs from 10am to midday on Saturday 8th March 2014 in The Studio at the Cranleigh Arts Centre. Tickets can be reserved here or you can simply turn up on the day.

Death Cafes were founded by Jon Underwood, based on the work of Bernard Crettaz. There is more information at www.deathcafe.com.
