Who should read this retirement book?

How do you choose the books that you read?

Are you seduced by racy cover designs? Do you believe the testimonials on the back cover?

Are you loyal to an author and buy each new release?

Or do you perhaps have a genre that appeals to you whether that is fact or fiction?

When I wrote the book How to Take Your Pension Pot – A Practical Guide to Your Retirement Options I went for simple bold colours and a big question mark on the front cover, pretty much going for the old adage “it does exactly what it says on the tin” (or in this case what it says on the cover).

So who should read this book?

-You should read it if you have a pension pot (a personal, stakeholder or money purchase occupational pension plan including Self Invested Personal Pensions);

-You should read this book if you are reaching that point where you want to take your pension pot benefits;

-You should read this book if you want to know what questions you should be asking yourself, your pension pot provider and your adviser (if you are taking advice);

-You should read is book if you want to know the difference between Guidance (as offered by the Pension Wise service) and Advice, there really is a big difference between the two;

-You should read this book if you want to prepare a retirement budget and work out if you are going to have enough retirement income from your pension pot;

-You should read this book if you want to know about your choices and options and choose the right one for you.

It may not be the beach blockbuster that you are after for this year’s Summer holiday but in terms of sorting out your pension pot at retirement it’s a cracker!
