Would you like to back a movie?

After eight months and over 60 hours of filming, our feature-length documentary about the Baby Boomer generation reaching retirement age is entering the post production stage.

This morning we are launching a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the production of our Financial Planning documentary movie, Boom!

The Kickstarter campaign here aims to raise £3,200 during the next 30 days to cover the post-production costs of the movie including professional narration, the soundtrack, rights to use copyrighted materials and entry to film festivals.

Boom! is a feature-length documentary about the financial and social implications of the Baby Boomer generation reaching retirement.

The movie will receive a premiere screening at the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) annual conference on 6th October 2014 before its public release in cinemas, online and on DVD during Financial Planning Week in November 2014.

Boom! will be narrated by freelance personal finance journalist Paul Lewis, who presents Money Box on BBC Radio 4.

We decided to use Kickstarter to crowdfund the production of the movie, rather than use additional corporate sponsorship, as a way to build an army of supporters who will help spread the important messages in this documentary.

Boom! will consist of a series of interviews about Baby Boomers entering retirement, as well as some innovative events and case studies designed to highlight the big issues this generation needs to consider in later life.

Featured experts include Justin Urquhart Stewart from Seven Investment Management, Tina Weeks from Serenity Financial Planning, Fiona Tait from Scottish Life, Garry White of Charles Stanley, Clive Bolton from Aviva and Claire Walsh of Aspect 8.

Supporters of the Kickstarter campaign can choose from a number of incentives, ranging from a digital download of the movie to Executive Producer status.

We look forward to finishing Boom! to a high standard and spreading the word about the Baby Boomer generation in retirement when the movie is released this autumn.
